Speaking Vim-glishLast week I decided to give Vim (which, for those of you who don't know is a text editor... and that's probably about as much as you need to know) a go. A week later I'm not exactly fluent in Vim but I'm okay, but have been noticing that I've started using the 'J' as down. Ryan's a bit farther along in the conversion, typing 'A' every time he wants to add something to the end of a line.
My SOFT this week is sucking. Which does not bode well for the rest of SOFT, but next week looks okay, just linked lists. Instead of doing SOFT I was trying to write some shell script that would determine my mood from the past few commands I'd typed. But I can't get if statements to work like I want them to so I've given up... maybe I should just do it in C. Yeah, that would probably be easier, lol. Well, probably a shell script and C together. How geeky. Must stop that.
Toby liking is really up this week. Because Dilana disliking was way up. Though I started disliking a long time before just last week's reality show. With a rebel yell, she cried, "More, More, MORE!" Which is totally what I'm doing now. And he's still not out, yay. I think Supernova like him more than Dave Navarro does. Poor Storm, Toby totally stole her spotlight last night. She probably shouldn't have asked him. On this day in history...So, I woke up this morning, checked the date and thought to myself: What's so important about the 24th of August? I honestly had no idea...
Of course, I had to check IMDB to find out: http://www.imdb.com/OnThisDay?day=24&month=August
Quite sadly, I think it might be that Rupert Grint's birthday is today. It is also Chad Michael Murray's birthday.
Looking my NSG birthday book, I noticed that no one from NSG's is today, but I saw Rupert Grint there again. I'm so sad.
Does anyone want to go and see David Tench? They film on Thursdays, 12:30 to 4:30 apparently. I just think it would be interesting. But I don't know of any guests who would be there... and I don't know where they're filming it... but I think the Channel 10 studios are in Pyrmont...
Oracle is not working, which is starting to really annoy me. When's this stupid assignment due anyway? I don't know.
So if anyone else knows anything that might be vaguely important pertaining to this date, let me know. Rock Star: SupernovaSo, last year it was INXS, and I was going for MiG (from reading an entry in Sirius, Macq Uni's alumi magazine about Adam Hills, I discovered that he also went to Macquarie). This year, it's Supernova (the mega-band composed of Tommy Lee from Motley Crue, Jason Newsted from Metallica, and Gilby Clarke from Guns 'n' Roses) and I'm going for Toby, despite the little detour I took where I decided that I wanted Dilana to win. But now she's become all conniving and all about playing the game, whereas Toby's still laid back. And she's not even from the southern hemisphere.
So yes. That's my little bit. http://rockstar.msn.com and yes, I am promoting Microsoft... but let's face it, you are too if you're reading this. Microsoft is cool. I was slightly obsessing about SupermanSo, I was reading this interview with Bryan Singer, the director of Superman Returns and there was this bit that just cracked me up immensely. Like, to the point where I was laughing out loud and not just lol-ing (which, despite what it stands for, is more of a silent laughter). So it follows:
And you probably didn't find that as amusing as me, but whatever. I thought it was funny. And that's all that matters, you know. And no, it wasn't funny because of that song Like Wow! by Leslie Carter or someone. Their first name definitely begins with an L. Haven't blogged in a whileI suppose that since I haven't in a while, I probably should. I don't think I really like this new spaces layout. And I wanted to change my theme and I cannot find it anywhere. How ridiculous. Suppose I am stuck with this forever? That would be a disaster.
Uni is boring. I have Thursdays off, though. My timetable keeps changing because of stupid INFS2030 and its lack of people taking it. Also because the uni is mean and wants them to have bigger classes... which means fewer classes. So not fair.
Am currently doing software homework because I feel I'm obsessing over getting it right... But it's not even finished yet, anyway.
My maths lecturer who got hit by a car should be back to lecturing next week. He's out of hospital, but they're not sure when he can physically do stuff. He broke some ribs (if you haven't heard). Tun-ti-tun... I suppose that is all. My return to the blogging scene was rather unremarkable. Let's see how many comments that gets. If it's none, then it truly is unremarkable in the literal sense of the word. How amusing. I'll assume that anyone who may comment didn't actually read this last paragraph. |
